PROTECT YOUR SPIRITUAL STATE

Wisdom Tetter

Nowadays almost every valuable item we possess comes with some form of security system e.g., our phones are password protected, bank accounts, jewellery, vehicles, homes are digitally or physically secure, our health and lives are insured and so on. Basically, everything valued by us is protected and taken care of to the best extent possible.

However, one important item we forget to acknowledge in our list of valuables is our spiritual state or our ability of being peaceful during all situations of life. Despite our spiritual state being our most priceless possession and the only one we can truly control – we neither prioritize it and nor do we put in much efforts for its protection. We don’t realise that it takes only a few years of hard work and some luck to acquire materialistic valuables but to acquire an evolved spiritual state is the result of innumerable blessings, grace, guidance and the efforts of lifetimes. Material possessions once lost can be regained easily but our spiritual state once lost can be very difficult to re-attain.

Therefore, we must take all steps to protect our greatest asset and should be cautious of our thoughts, words, actions, reactions and perceptions which could rob us of our state. Frequent one-minute meditations, smiling at negative thoughts, seeking forgiveness, accepting adversities as prarabdhas, staying in touch with Guru’s gyana, loving others unconditionally and seeing all beings as a reflection of God are some of the tried and tested methods which can be used to protect and strengthen our spiritual state.
