Guru, the spiritual master is one who introduces his followers
to their inner self and helps them to connect to it. He helps
people to lead a perfect life and cautions them of likely deviation
from the rightful path.
‘Gu’ in Sanskrit means darkness and
‘Ru’ means the remover. Therefore
Guru is one who helps in removing the darkness of ignorance by
lighting the flame of knowledge. Guru helps us cut the cobweb
of negativity and negative vibrations which we have ourselves
woven under ignorance. Guru is one who holds our hands and takes
us through the journey from death to eternity.
‘Guru Gita’ describes Guru as one
who cuts the attachments of the disciple by the sword of mercy
and bestows absolute Bliss.
You are lucky if you get a Guru in this life time, you are luckier
if you are able to surrender at the feet of Guru and you are the
luckiest if the Guru bestows his mercy on you. However you are
unlucky if you cannot find the right Guru, you are unluckier if
you have come across a Guru but could not recognize him and you
are unluckiest if you could find the Guru but could not surrender
at his feet.
Try not to miss an opportunity of recognizing a Guru and surrendering
at his feet so as to make life meaningful and purposeful (Jeevan
ko saarthak bana sakte hain).
