Everybody in this world is carrying loads and loads of garbage in their head and look for opportunity to dump their garbage on others. The garbage is of disappointments, irritation, failures, frustration, miseries, ego etc. Not only that we should consciously reduce our own garbage we should ensure that we do not allow others to dump their garbage on us. Not allowing others to dump their garbage on us means not taking offensive of others remarks, behavior, actions and negative reactions. We must try to safeguard our inner peace and inner balance. Somebody has rightly said that 10% of life is what we make and 90% is how we take.

One day, when my taxi was proceeding towards the airport in the right lane and at right speed suddenly, a black car, jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. The taxi driver slammed the brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches!

The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at the taxi driver. The taxi driver just smiled, waved at the guy and almost apologized.

So I asked, "Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!"

He explained saying sir, "Many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. NEVER take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on with the routine life." Don't take their garbage and spoil your day and spread it to other people at work, at home or on the streets.

Q: Is it possible not to react when others are scolding and blaming you for no fault of yours?

A: To react or not to react i.e. to get provoked or not, is purely your choice. Nobody has the power to force you get provoked if you wish not to get provoked. Our problem is our own weakness of getting provoked at the drop of a hat. We find it tough not to react and find it easy to react, especially negatively. This is how unconsciously we have trained our mind over a period of time and suffering the consequences. It is still not late and you can retrain your mind, not to react negatively, when you know that others are trying to provoke you and ultimately its you who is going the suffer the consequences and not so much the other person. Others enjoy seeing you suffer and by reacting negatively you are only helping others fulfill their secret agenda.

Whenever you feel that you are being targeted for something for which you are not responsible then know that the other person is only trying to dump his/her garbage on you. See clearly the overflowing garbage from their heads and you should try to save yourself and not accept the free gift of garbage being distributed all over.
